Famous television actress Deepika Kakkar Ibrahim, recognized by audiences as Simar from 'Sasural Simar Ka', has been away from the small screen for a while. However, she continues to connect with her fans through her YouTube channel. A few months ago, when Deepika revealed her diagnosis of liver cancer, it came as a shock to her supporters. Nevertheless, she has shown remarkable courage and is fighting the illness with determination. Recently, she made headlines again by discussing her health journey on a podcast with Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa.
Deepika shared that her family is currently awaiting the results of a new FAPI scan, which will determine if she is completely cancer-free. She explained, "The FAPI scan is a special type of CT scan that detects cancer cells in the body. The good news in my case was that the cancer was limited to the tumor." The actress further revealed that doctors removed 22 percent of her liver, which contained an 11-centimeter tumor. She added, "The last scan showed no cancer cells anywhere in my body, and all my blood tests are normal."
Currently, Deepika is undergoing oral targeted therapy, which is expected to last for two years. She emphasized that she is paying close attention to her health during this time to prevent any recurrence of the disease. Deepika also mentioned that her illness surprised her doctors, as she has always maintained a healthy lifestyle.
